  1. Technobiography:
From the day I was born to today, technology has changed tremendously. Our generation has been lucky to be exposed to the internet, computers, telephones/cellphones, laptops, GPS navigations and much more. Growing up in a household with a tech savy father was very interesting. He always had the newest phone and kept me updated on the newest programs. I was first introduced to computers in elementary school, where I took a computer class on rotation days. We did programs such as type to learn, jump start and Oregon Trail. I enjoyed the computer and all of its accessories. Soon after that came, AIM, which I probably made 12 different screen names. It was a growing phenomenom. I learned to use the Microsoft Office operating systems throughout middle, high school and college.

Today I feel very confident in, my abilities to manuever these programs. I have a blackberry that is constantly attached at my hip. It is very conveinent for a college student because email comes right to your palm at all times. Facebook is also another source of technology that I use. Not only can I access it from my laptop but it is also linked to my BlackBerry. As much as I love technology sometimes I wish that I couldnt be contacted that easily. I am so connected, even while I am in a forien country, I have cell phone service. What is amazing is that, you can never know everything about technology. There are new developments all the time, such as the new websites and programs that I was introduced to today in class.

  2. Technobiography:
I am not really a tech person at all. It's not that I don't like technology; I love how easy it has made many things, and how fun. It's more that I don't have the time or patience to learn how to use all the technology around me. And some of it I just never saw the appeal of, like video games, although my boyfriend is trying to change my mind about that.
When I was young, technology wasn't readily available to me. We eventually got a computer, when I was six or so, but mostly for my Dad to do work on. We had very limited access to it, and when we were on, it was only for educational purposes. Although I must say that doing school on the computer was much more exciting than doing it on paper. The very first computer game that I can remember playing and loving was Organ Trail. Other than that, there was little technology offered to me in my home during my elementary school years. As I got into high school, things began to shift, as it was expected for all assignments to be typed, and all students to be able to use a computer comfortably.
Now, I enjoy a reasonable amount of success when working with technology, but I still get frustrated when I can't get something to work, and I still don't understand half of what people say when they start talking about technology. Hopefully, as I continue to be submerged more and more into this culture of technology, I will be picking up more and more. I do want to learn more about it, because anything that can make my life easier is well worth the effort.

  3. I would say I am not very good with technology but it is everywhere and I use it everyday. I remember when my family got our first computer when I was in elementary school. I did not know how to do alot on it but I thought it was so cool. In school we would play math games in one our computer labs. When I went off to middle school I created an screenname and email address and would talk to all my friends. On my 15th birthday I got my first cell phone. I was big and chunky but I thought it was so neat. Each cell phone I have had since then has been smaller than the previous and capable of more things. I also receive a laptop my senior year and I could not be happier with the portability of it. Everyday at work I deal with technology because I work at a grocery store. I use technology when ringing up the customers at the register or when running customer service. Technology is a great thing and it makes things easier.
